Relax Jaw While Grinding
Reduce muscle tension, protect teeth, and soothe jaw pain – targeted botulinum treatment of the masseter with a natural, practical result.
Overview of the treatment
The most important facts

Treatment duration: 20–45 min. (dependent on area)
Stay: outpatient

Durability: approx. 3–5 months (individual)

Suitable if...
You suffer from nighttime grinding/clenching (bruxism), jaw pain, or tension headaches.
a bite splint alone is not sufficient.
the masseter is visibly strong (well-developed chewing muscles).
You have realistic expectations and accept regular refreshers.
Note: We check dental/jaw joint issues interdisciplinary (dentist/gnathology), if necessary.
Methods & Variants
Botulinum in the Masseter (Standard)
Targeted micro-injections into the masticatory muscles with a male-appropriate dosage; goal: tension reduction without relevant daily chewing restrictions. Fine-tuning during the control after 10–14 days.
Optional Additions
Temporalis points at forehead/temple pressure, physiotherapy/trigger point treatment, bite splint (dentist), stress/sleep management.
Aesthetic Side Effect
With a strong masseter, the lower edge of the face can appear narrower – not a primary goal, but is often desired.

Procedure –
Step by Step
Consultation
We discuss complaints, grinding patterns, and goals, check masseter strength, jaw joint, and dental situation, and determine areas & dosage – calmly and transparently.
Preparation
Photo documentation, marking of injection points while seated, skin disinfection; brief instructions for behavior on the treatment day (no heavy chewing/gum, no heat).
Treatment/Operation
Targeted micro-injections in the masseter (on both sides) with fine needles; the treatment lasts a few minutes. Immediately after, a brief cooling – no dressing needed.
Initial Aftercare
No massaging/rubbing on the day of treatment, no intensive sport/sauna (24 hrs), keep head upright for a few hours. Control/fine-tuning after 10–14 days.
Healing process
After 3–7 days, many feel a relief; full effect after 10–14 days.
In the first weeks, jaw fatigue may occur with a very firm bite and usually subsides.
The effect gradually decreases after 3–5 months – refreshing as planned.

Risks & Safety
Temporarily, redness, small bruises, a feeling of pressure or slight chewing fatigue may occur. Rarely, asymmetries, changes in smiling (diffusion to neighboring muscles), pulling at the corners of the mouth, or jaw weakness occur due to overdose – we minimize this through precise point selection, adjusted dosage, and the control session. Very rarely: headache, feeling of dryness in the parotid region, infection at the injection site.
Important: no manipulation on the treatment day, heat/sports break 24 h, sun protection; bite splint and physiotherapy support the effect. If warning signs occur (severe unilateral weakness, pronounced asymmetry, fever), please report immediately – you have a clear contact pathway.

Combinations & Alternatives (optional)
Bite guard (dentist) for dental protection
Physiotherapy/Trigger point/Manual therapy
Botulinum additionally in the temporalis for temple pressure
Stress/Sleep hygiene (accompanying measures)
