Chin Augmentation
Harmonizing profiles, defining the jawline, and smoothing the transition to the neck – minimally invasive with hyaluronic acid/autologous fat or surgically with implants/genioplasty, naturally and proportionally.
Overview of the treatment
The most important facts

Treatment/Operation Duration:
approximately 20–40 min. (Hyaluronic Acid),
60–120 min. (Implant/Genioplasty)

Downtime:
0–3 days (Hyaluron),
5–10 days (surgical)

Suitable if...
a recessed chin (microgenia) that makes the profile look unbalanced.
You desire a clearer chin/neck definition and a calmer side profile.
You have realistic expectations and prefer a natural result.
depending on the method, smoking cessation and consistent aftercare are possible.
Methods & Variants
Hyaluron (Injection)
Gentle volume/profile adjustment without surgery; precise projection/extending of the chin tip, small asymmetries can be balanced. Reversible/bio-degradable, ideal for "getting used to" or subtle corrections.
Fat grafting (Lipofilling)
Natural tissue, soft texture; suitable for moderate enhancements and fine contouring. Removal from suitable areas, processing and microinjection in layers.
Chin implant (Silicone/PEEK, etc.)
Permanent projection with defined shape. Access intraoral (in the mouth) or submental (small incision under the chin), placing on the bone; suitable for greater projection requirements.
Genioplasty (surgical chin repositioning)
Bone repositioning of the chin tip (forward/downward, rarely backward) for precise profile correction; stable, without foreign material. Indications based on anatomical conditions/profile requirements.
Which method is appropriate will be decided after measurements, soft tissue thickness, dental/bite situation, and desired effect.

Process – Step by Step
Consultation
We discuss wishes and concerns, analyze profile, chin projection, soft tissues, and chin-neck angle, incorporate nose/jawline into the planning, and explain options, limitations, and the healing process – calmly and transparently.
Preparation
Photo documentation and measurement, if necessary, profile analysis/3D simulation as a discussion tool (without guarantees of results). Selection of the method (hyaluronic acid/autologous fat/implant/genioplasty), information, advice on medication/nicotine, and organization of the first few days.
Treatment/Surgery
Hyaluronic acid/autologous fat: targeted layer injection for projection/length adjustment; fine control of the contours.
Implant: precise access (intraoral/submental), implant pocket on the bone, fixation and low-tension closure.
Genioplasty: bone cut at the tip of the chin, shifting as planned, fixation with plates/screws, soft tissue adjustment.
Sterile, tissue-preserving approach; bandaging/compression as planned.
Initial Aftercare
Cooling and rest, if necessary, mouth rinses (intraoral access), soft food for a few days, head elevated while sleeping. Control appointments are firmly scheduled; exercise/activity gradually after approval.
Healing process
After a few days (hyaluronic acid) or 5–10 days (surgical), everyday activities are quite possible; swelling and pressure sensation gradually subside.
After 1 month, the contour usually appears socially acceptable and calm; changes in sensitivity of the lower lip/chin are – if they occurred – often reversible.
After 3–6 months, the stable form is visible; scars fade.
With hyaluronic acid, the effect declines slowly (9–18 months); implant/genioplasty are long-term.

Risks & Safety
Hyaluron/Fat Grafting: temporary swelling, bruising, pressure sensation, rarely asymmetries/nodules; vascular complications during injections are very rare, minimized by anatomically safe planes, blunt cannulas, and careful procedures.
Implant/Genoplasty: swelling, bruising, pain, temporary changes in sensitivity in the lower lip/chin, infection, implant displacement or bony healing disorders (rare). We reduce risks through precise planning, tissue-conserving techniques, ISO-certified hygiene processes, and clear aftercare. Smoking cessation and rest support healing.
