Suitable if...

  • after weight loss or with increasing skin laxity the buttocks appear sagging and wrinkles are bothersome.

  • Friction, sweating, or skin irritations in the fold area affect daily life.

  • a liposuction alone is not enough (excess skin remains).

  • Weight is stable and smoking cessation is possible (healing & scar quality).

Methods & Variants

  • Upper Buttock Lift (Oberer Gesäßlift)
Horizontal scar above the buttocks (lumbar/iliac crest), the contour is lifted upwards; scar kept as low as possible and often covered by underwear/bikini.

  • Lower Buttock Lift (Infraglutealfalte)
Incision in the natural buttock crease; suitable for folds/excess skin below. The scar is located in the crease and may be visible when sitting – indication should be chosen carefully.

  • Lateral Buttock/Thigh Lift
Firming with a lateral course towards the hip/thigh, when laxity extends to the outside; often after significant weight loss.

  • Combinations
Liposuction for edge refinement/flanks, autologous fat (lipofilling) for subtle volume enhancement (no implant). Renuvion can support skin contraction in selected cases but does not replace a tightening surgery.

Which variant is advisable will be determined after measurement, skin/tissue findings and target image – focusing on natural proportions.

Process – Step by Step

Consultation

We discuss goals, concerns, and questions, examine skin quality, wrinkle patterns, and proportions, document the findings, and explain scar management, realistic outcomes, and the healing process – calmly and transparently.

Preparation

Photo documentation, measurements, surgical briefing, adjusting compression garments. Instructions on quitting smoking, medication, hygiene (wrinkle area), and daily life in the first few days; organization of accompanying person and transport.

Treatment/Surgery

Under general anesthesia, we remove excess skin/fat tissue, tighten and fix the covering with low tension, and model a harmonious contour. Liposuction at transitions for soft lines; autologous fat available as planned. Drains only if necessary; application of compression garments.

First Aftercare

Pain/swelling management, wound care (dry, low-friction), compression for 6 weeks, early gentle mobilization. We will specifically discuss sitting and lying positions (preferably side/stomach position, avoid long sitting initially). Regular check-ups; activity will be gradually increased.

Healing process

After one week, swelling and tightness usually subside; you wear the compression consistently and avoid prolonged sitting.

After one month, daily life is generally possible again; you can start light sports after approval.

After three to six months, contours and scars calm down noticeably; the feeling of tension continues to decrease.

After twelve months, the scar maturation is complete; the shape appears refined.

Risks & Safety

The gluteal area is challenged by pressure and movement – healing requires care. In the first weeks, swelling, bruising, a sensation of tension, and temporary changes in sensitivity are normal. Wound healing disorders or edge openings may occur, especially with friction, nicotine, or pre-existing skin conditions; we prevent these with tissue-conserving techniques, precise fixation, compression garments, good hygiene, and close monitoring.

Specifically, seromas, scar abnormalities (lateral tension), asymmetries, lymph stasis, as well as rare skin edge/adipose tissue necroses may occur. Regardless, there are general surgical/anesthesia risks (infection, bleeding, thrombosis/embolism). You can support the course by refraining from smoking, minimizing friction during care, being consistent with compression, and gradually increasing activity. In case of warning signs (unilateral severe redness, fever, increasing pain), please contact us immediately – you have a clear emergency pathway, and we are reachable.

Combinations & Alternatives (optional)

  • Liposuction (flanks/thighs) for contour refinement

  • Fat transfer (lipofilling) for subtle volume enhancement

  • Tummy tuck / Lower body lift for extensive excess (individual indication)
