Process – 4 Steps

Consultation

We discuss goals, complaints, concerns and examine anatomy, skin quality, and proportions. We explain scar formation, realistic size reduction, and healing process – transparently and calmly.

Preparation

Photo documentation, measurements, if necessary, imaging according to guidelines, surgical consent, supportive bra fitting. Instructions regarding medications, nicotine, sleeping position, and daily routine after the surgery.

Treatment/Surgery

Under general anesthesia, we remove excess glandular/fat/skin tissue, shape a , reposition the nipple/areola harmoniously, and close the skin with low tension. If necessary, we perform liposuction on the edges.

First Follow-Up

Pain management, wound checks, supportive bra 24/7, scar care as instructed, gradual activation. Follow-up appointments are scheduled; we are available for questions.

Healing process

After one week, swelling and tension usually decrease; you consistently wear the supportive bra and take care of yourself.

After one month, daily life generally returns to normal; light sports are possible after approval.

After six months, the shape and scar appear noticeably calmer; sensitivity stabilizes.

After twelve months, the result is considered mature; the scar maturation is complete.

Risks & Safety

Like any surgical procedure, breast reduction carries risks. It is important for us that you know what you can realistically expect – objectively, without unnecessarily scaring you. In the first few days, swelling, bruising, a feeling of tension, and temporary changes in sensitivity are normal and gradually subside. We accompany you with clear recommendations on cooling, rest, pain therapy, and scheduled follow-up appointments.

Wound healing disturbances occur more frequently when the skin is pre-damaged or nicotine is involved. We prevent this with tissue-preserving surgical techniques, ISO-certified hygiene processes, and close post-operative care – and you support the process by giving up smoking, consistently wearing the support bra, and a gradual increase in activity.

Specifically, there may be scarring issues, asymmetries, small, palpable lipid tissue hardenings (fat tissue necrosis), or fluid accumulations (seromas); we will explain to you how to recognize these and how we may treat them. The ability to breastfeed may be limited depending on the initial findings and technique used. The sensitivity of the nipple/areola often changes temporarily and usually normalizes in the following months; in rare cases, changes may persist.

Regardless, the general surgical and anesthesia risks apply, such as infection, bleeding, thrombosis/embolism. We work with proven prophylactics (e.g., thrombosis protection, antibiotic regimens), an experienced team, and clear safety standards.

We will discuss your individual risk profile in detail during a personal conversation – including warnings to watch for and a clear contact method for emergencies. In case of uncertainties, remember: It’s better to reach out once too often than once too little – we are here for you.

Combinations & Alternatives (optional)

Liposuction of the lateral breast/axilla for contour refinement

  • Aureole correction (shape/size)

  • Pure tightening (mastopexy), if mainly the shape is the issue and not the volume
