Double Chin Treatment
Targeted reduction of submental fat and clearer definition of the chin-neck angle – tissue-sparing with submental liposuction, optionally supplemented with skin-tightening procedures.
Overview of the treatment
The most important facts

Operation Duration: approx. 30–90 min. Anesthesia: Local anesthesia ± twilight sleep (general anesthesia on request)

Chin bandage/compression: 1–2 weeks (according to plan)

Suitable if...
holding submental fat despite diet/exercise and the contour appears "soft".
Weight stable and you bring realistic expectations.
the skin quality is sufficient; with mild excess, tightening support may be useful.
Note: In case of significant skin laxity, platysma bands, or pronounced “turkey neck”, a neck lift/platysmaplasty is often more effective – we will discuss this in the consultation.
Methods & Variants
Submental Liposuction (Standard)
Tumescent-assisted, through small incisions underneath the chin/at the sides. Goal: volume reduction with even transitions; optionally with ultrasound-assisted support (e.g. VASER) for firmer tissue.
Skin Tightening Support (e.g. Renuvion)
Subdermal application for reduction of the skin envelope in suitable cases; does not replace surgical tightening in cases of significant excess.
Combinations
Depending on the findings chin augmentation (hyaluronic acid/autologous fat/implant) for the profile angle, jawline contouring, with pronounced laxity neck lift/platysmaplasty.
Which variant is suitable will be determined based on skin/tissue, chin projection, and target appearance – with a focus on a natural line.

Process – Step by Step
Consultation
We discuss wishes and concerns, analyze fat distribution, skin quality, and the chin-neck angle and explain possibilities, limitations, and the healing process – calmly and transparently.
Preparation
Photo documentation, marking while sitting, surgery plan (solely liposuction, possibly tightening support), organization of chin bandage/compression, instructions on medication/nicotine and the process for the first days.
Treatment/Surgery
Under local anesthesia ± sedation, the gentle fat removal is performed with fine cannulas; energy-assisted support and/or subdermal tightening are applied as needed. Sterile procedure, low-tension contouring; placement of the chin bandage.
Initial Aftercare
Targeted cooling intervals, bandage/compression for 1–2 weeks as planned, sleeping with head elevated, rest without pressure. Early check-up after a few days, further check-ups scheduled; gradual activation.
Healing process
After several days, swelling and bruising subside; you should consistently wear the chin bandage.
After one to two weeks, the contour appears calmer; light exercise is possible upon approval.
After three to six months, the stable result is visible – soft transitions, clearer chin-neck angle.

Risks & Safety
Short-term swelling, bruising, feelings of tension/numbness in the lower chin area are common and gradually subside. Specifically, irregularities/dents, asymmetries, seromas, or pigmentation reactions may occur; with energy-assisted procedures, thermal skin reactions are rare. We minimize risks through precise marking, tissue-conserving technique, experienced parameterization, ISO-certified processes, and clear aftercare (bandage, activation plan, sun protection). Smoking cessation, weight stability, and consistency in compression support the healing process.

Combinations & Alternatives (optional)
Chin Augmentation (Hyaluronic Acid/Fat/Implant) for Profile Harmony
Jawline Contour (Fine Augmentation)
Neck Lift/Platysmaplasty for severe laxity/banding
Weight/Posture Management as a complement (not a substitute for surgery)
