Overview of the treatment

Open view

Raising the eyebrows reduces the 'heaviness' of the upper eyelid.

Natural expression

Harmonious brow shape without "overhang" or surprised look.

Calm forehead area

Less compensatory forehead lifting in everyday life.

Unobtrusive scar management

Small cuts at the hairline/temple – usually inconspicuous in everyday life.

Suitable if...

  • The brows sit low and hooded eyelids enhance or weigh down the gaze.

  • They often raise their forehead to appear more "open" (tension/headache possible).

  • They desire a calm, natural lift – without artificial effect.

Note: Pure forehead wrinkles are primarily not "surgically removed" – here, complementary Botulinum/Skin Treatments help.

Methods & Variants

  • Endoscopic Brow Lift

Several small incisions in the hair; with a camera, the brow is gently released and lifted, fixation in a new position. Advantage: short incisions, quick recovery.

  • Temporal (lateral) Brow Lift

Short incisions in the temporal area; focused elevation of the outer brow/temple – ideal for lateral brow degrowth, feminine eye shape.

  • Open Techniques (frontal hairline / coronary)

Long incision at the frontal hairline or over the crown (rare): for pronounced recess or for hairline correction; indication selective, scar placement is carefully planned.

  • Internal Brow Fixation (Browpexy)

Via the upper eyelid approach (during combined upper eyelid surgery), the brow can be subtly supported; small effect, minimal additional effort.

Which variant makes sense will be decided based on brow shape, skin/hairline, forehead length, and desired effect – goal: natural & proportional.

Process – Step by Step

Consultation

We discuss wishes and concerns, analyze brow status, forehead length, skin quality, and the influence on the upper eyelids. We explain the possibilities/limitations of the methods, the healing process, and clarify questions – calmly and transparently.

Preparation

Photo documentation, exact marking while seated (brow shape/vectors), surgical briefing. Instructions regarding blood thinners, smoking cessation, sleeping position (head elevated), cooling, and daily organization for the first days.

Treatment/Surgery

Depending on the technique, small cuts in the hair/temple (or at the front hairline), gentle dissolution and lifting of the brow(s), fixation in the desired position. Tension-free closure, dressing/cooling according to plan.

Initial Aftercare

Targeted cooling intervals, head elevation, rest. Wash hair carefully (after clearance), removal of threads/clips according to plan, sun protection for the scars. Light activity after a few days, sports gradually after clearance.

Healing process

After one week, swelling/bruising usually decreases significantly; everyday activities are possible.

After two weeks, the area appears to be socially acceptable; residual swelling diminishes.

After one to three months, sensation and facial expression normalize; scars fade.

After six to twelve months, the final result is evident.

Risks & Safety

In the short term, swelling, bruising, a feeling of tension, pressure/headaches, as well as temporary changes in sensitivity in the forehead/hairline region may occur. Specifically, asymmetries, under- or over-correction, scarring/hairline changes, irritations of small nerves (usually reversible), or hematomas are possible. We reduce risks through precise marking, tissue-preserving preparation, secure fixation, low-tension closure, and clear aftercare (cooling, head elevation, load control).

Important are giving up smoking, avoiding blood thinners after consultation, and sun protection for the scars. In case of warning signs (severe unilateral swelling/pain, fever, vision/sensitivity problems), please report immediately – you have a clear emergency pathway.

Combinations & Alternatives (optional)

  • Upper Eyelid Surgery (for additional skin excess on the upper eyelid)

  • Botulinum for Forehead/Glabelle Relaxation (supplemental)

  • Facelift/Temporal Lift as part of a larger contour correction

  • Skin Treatments (Laser/Peels) for fine wrinkles/pigmentation
